NPM (distributed by Dynetics GmbH) has expanded its family of small permanent magnet stepper motors with integrated spur gears to include two new models in the Ø 35 mm size range. These are characterized by smaller dimensions and higher performance. With this upgrade, NPM has not only improved the performance of these two new models, but also achieved cost-effective manufacturing.

The compact and easy-to-use EtherCAT ARM-based automation controller ETX-R41K111C (distributed by Dynetics) is designed for seamless, multi-axis motion control with up to 36 axes. The automation controller is compatible with Windows and Linux platforms and supports development in C, C++, and C#.

Integrated in the powerful brushless motors of the FAULHABER BX4 family, the new Integrated Motion Controller BX4 IMC, impresses users with its extensive range of functions and outstanding performance. Extension in length compared to the motor alone is 18 mm only including a full featured servo controller and a 12-bit encoder. FAULHABER has added another extremely compact Motion Controller without housing to its product range. The new Motion Controller is ideal for integration in equipment manufacturing and medical technology applications. With 36 V and 3 A (peak current 9 A), it covers the power range up to approx. 100 W and is suitable for DC-motors with encoder, brushless drives or linear motors.

Dynetics, the specialist in mechatronics, summarizes both the latest innovations and proven components it offers in the field of linear motors. As is well known, direct-drive linear motors produce a linear, that is, straight-line (translational) motion. Due to their high performance, flexibility, and efficiency—in terms of thrust, speed, acceleration, and positioning accuracy—linear motors are suitable for a wide range of applications. They enable rapid movements in confined spaces and are particularly well-suited for complex motion sequences.

A good example of a space-saving axial fan is the D1225R series from Dynetics, which is available in versions for 12 V or 24 V DC voltage. This axial fan with ball bearings is characterised by an optimised impeller design and a 3-phase BLDC motor with integrated rubber damping and a new driver IC.

Dynetics has EC axial fans (EC = Electronically Commuted or Electronically Controlled) in its portfolio because they replace conventional AC fans, which are based on shaded-pole motors with very low efficiency. EC motors have a very high efficiency and maintain this even at low speeds. In most cases, they consume less than a third to a half of the power required by conventional shaded-pole induction motors, resulting in lower operating costs and shorter amortisation times.

Promising solutions for increasing efficiency in agriculture are offered by agricultural robotics. Suitable drive systems need to be as compact as possible, like the flat DC-micromotors of the BXT series from FAULHABER. For applications with major fluctuations in temperature and under the harshest conditions, the extremely robust motors of the CXR family are ideally suited. Incremental encoders and compact drive electronics enable dynamic and highly positioning when sowing, replanting or harvesting.

Autonomous picking robots that allow individual objects to be precisely accessed are one example. A drive unit consisting of a brushless DC-servomotor from the FAULHABER BX4 series with integrated motion controller and planetary gearhead ensures precise positioning when storing and retrieving items, and all this in continuous operation with constantly changing loads.

Linear Actuator FAULHABER L product family

With the all-new Linear Actuator L product family, FAULHABER is offering a unique turn-key-solution for a broad range of applications. The smaller versions 06L/08L/10L are ideal for medical, lab automation, optics and photonics or space applications. The larger versions 22L/32L using the latest GPT gear technology, are designed for applications in the industrial automation and also optics and photonics. The linear actuator FAULHABER L family can therefore be combined with a wide range of DC motors, 4-pole and 2-pole brushless motors or stepper motors and are optimized to leverage at best the torque and speed range of the different FAULHABER motor families.

Dynetics offers a wide range of axial, radial and centrifugal fans with AC or DC power supply. The company therefore has a high level of expertise in fans and blowers. In this article, Dynetics provides advice to help find the optimum solutions for specific requirements. FAULHABER offers drive solutions for nearly every requirement

A motion controller with even more possibilities: With the new MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B motion controllers, the selection and commissioning of drive systems is now even simpler. With the compact MC 3602/06 B, DC motors, brushless DC motors, and linear motors can be operated with the typical position encoders as servo drive in accordance with CiA 402. Also new is the support of stepper motors with encoder as servo or without encoder in open-loop operation. The products ‚speak‘ EtherCAT, CANopen, RS232, and USB.

The new SITOP PSU8400 three-phase power supplies from Siemens and the SITOP SEL1600 selectivity modules can be conveniently parameterised and diagnosed via integrated displays or IO-Link.

If shaft motors are used vertically, a counterweight is required to compensate the effect of gravity. Without a counterweight, the motor shaft would fall when de-energised. In conventional designs, the spring counterweight is a critical component as the spring ages over time and requires special attention in terms of maintenance. An innovative, maintenance-free counterweight called gLESS utilises magnetic force and enables uniform movement.
